Jiawei Shen (愚生), a dynamic Chinese composer based in Los Angeles, crafts evocative and unforgettable music that elevates storytelling. With a foundation in classical music from a young age, Jiawei weaves a distinctive sonic tapestry, blending electronic textures, world instruments, and custom-crafted sounds with lush orchestral and acoustic elements. His upbringing in Asia infuses his work with a keen melodic sensitivity, while his studies in philosophy and psychology bring a profound, human-centered approach to interpreting visuals and narratives.

A versatile and collaborative film composer and music producer, Jiawei honed his craft at UCLA’s prestigious film scoring program. His professional experience spans China and the United States, giving him a rich, cross-cultural perspective that resonates in his work. From intimate indies to expansive cinematic projects, Jiawei’s diverse portfolio reflects his sharp artistic intuition, dependable execution, and seamless teamwork.
